What I Wore on Date Night

Normally if the betrothed and I aren't catching up with friends on a Saturday night, we are catching up with our couch. Last night, however, we threw caution to the wind and ventured out of the house for a date, including yummy dinner and a movie (and a quick detour to save a spaniel from being run over - but that is a whole other story). Because it was a nice warm evening - the first weekend of summer - I pulled out one of my favourite fail-safe frocks; a gorgeous cotton poppy explosion that I bought in Brooklyn, NY, four and half years ago. Fond memories of New York no doubt enhances my everlasting enthusiasm, but leaving aside its history this frock also happens to be a study in perfect prettiness. It is pinker than it appears in this pic.

Dress: vintage (purchased from a vintage clothing store in Brooklyn)

Belt: vintage

Shoes: Maloles

Bag: of indeterminate origin i.e. I can't remember where I got it!

What a lovely dress! Love your blog- wonderful content and posts. I am off to read a few more now.
My hubs and I have taken many detours to save random dogs and cats (he's a bit tired of said detours after so many, honestly)Glad yours is willing!
