When I caught sight of this collection from John Patrick Organics, my eyes fell a little bit in love. Eco fashion is big news these days, but I don't think I've encountered an organic label with quite this much cool before.
When it comes to winter there are a few basics I need to build my wardrobe around: some dressy pants, a perfect fitting pair of jeans, some feet friendly boots, and a cosy coat that will tie everything together. From there I can throw in pretty vintage blouses, chic 40s shirt dresses and lots of bits and baubles. And fabulous tights too. But now I'm getting carried away.
The point is that I'm busy imagining my fantasy winter wardrobe. My summer wardrobe tends to come to me, with pretty frocks finding their way to my heart and home with little effort. But seeing as I dread winter every year - and cashmere and leather boots are so much more expensive than cotton and jelly sandals - some serious imagining is actually required.
When I was busy with these fantasies, my longed for basics looked a whole lot like some of these pieces.
I see shades of Ali McGraw in Love Story along with 60s models like Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton. As far as the styling goes, I love love love white tights. And bouffant hair too.
And I simply must have a tailored wool jacket. Camel preferred.
Enjoy!
